Last Saturday, the 27th of January, I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Harmony in Green Masfouts cleanup and plantation event. This initiative, organised by the Emirates Nature WWF, brought together volunteers, and environmental enthusiasts from different emirates of the UAE to make a positive impact on the Masfouts area. A Day of Dedication and Teamwork The event kicked off early in the morning with a briefing from the Ahmed Abusamara (organiser), Ahmed is very knowledgeable and very apprachable individual and takes time to asnwer questions from volunteers. He outlined the day's plan and safety protocols. Then, armed with gloves, trash bags, litter pickers and enthusiasm, we set out to tackle the accumulated waste scattered around the area. The camaraderie amongst the volunteers was inspiring, as we worked together to collect plastic bottles, cans, food wrappers, and other debris. After a productive morning spent cleaning, we shifted gears to the planting activity. With guidance from Ahmed and hos team, we planted a Moringa plants. The feeling of contributing to the reforestation of the area was truly rewarding, and it was heartening to see so many people come together for this common goal. More Than Just Cleaning and Planting The Harmony in Green event was more than just a cleanup and planting initiative; it was a celebration of environmental awareness and community spirit. A Call to Action The Harmony in Green event was a powerful reminder of the importance of protecting our environment. It served as a platform to educate participants about sustainable practices and inspire them to take action in their own communities. The positive energy and collaborative spirit were truly inspiring, and I left the event feeling hopeful about the future of our planet. If you're looking for a way to make a difference in your community and contribute to a greener future, I highly recommend participating in the next Emirates Nature WWF event. It's a rewarding experience that will leave you feeling empowered and connected to your surroundings.
It was my first time learning about Falaj as such (not the first time with ENWWF ). It was a very great morning, Altaf gave us detailed information about Falaj ancient irrigation system (that I did not know about). I enjoyed the Nature, greenery, and the atmosphere. As always Ahmed was on top of things, and our very dear Moaz, on of its kind. It was well worth waking up at 4 am in the morning and driving 260 km to reach the location. Thanks for guiding me through and answering all questions!
Please note that events may be cancelled or rescheduled due to updated safety guidelines from the government. We will try our best to keep you informed of any changes as early as possible. Thank you for your understanding and support.
