Clean the beach and save animals by collecting tiny plastic pieces on the shore!
Tiny plastic nurdles—are washing up on UAE shores, endangering marine life and ecosystems! We are intensifying our efforts by calling volunteers to help us collect these tiny pieces of plastic and save many, many marine animals.
It’s not just finished plastic products like bottles that cause harm to our seas, plastics are polluting our marine environments even before they become the objects we all recognise. Nurdles are pre-production plastic pieces – the raw material that makes almost all plastic products. For example, around 600–1,200 nurdles are melted and shaped to make a single plastic water bottle.
They may sound cute but these little pellets are the 2nd biggest source of microplastic litter (by weight) found on beaches the world over and are often mistaken as food by marine animals. Many animals die and are harmed because of ingesting these plastics.
To raise awareness about the impacts of plastics and take some action join us in our nurdle hunt!

The nurdle hunt was very informative and very well organized! Fun for all ages. Once you’ve nurdle hunted and seen nurdles - you cannot not nurdle hunt when you go to a beach…. It’s addictive..
Event Nurdle Hunt a very informative event. Emirates Nature - WWF Representative shared the knowledge and explained Nurdles are tiny plastic raw materials and how they are harming the sea animals, marine life and the ecosystem. The Event was at Sea Beach in morning hours and it was a wonderful experience to be at the Sea Beach and collect the Nurdles, the tiny plastic pieces. I along with other volunteers were very surprised to see that there were lots of nurdle the tiny pieces at the shore. Definitely I am going to share this information to my friends and family members and make them aware about the nurdles, how they are affecting the marine life and how we can take action to protect the marine life. Thank you Emirates Nature -WWF for giving the opportunity to participate in Nurdle Hunt Event.
It was an amazing experience to learn about Nurdles and how our small steps can save the environment and marina life.
I was amazed how many are these nurdles in the beach and how it will affect the marine life. Now, whenever I will swim, I will be aware to atleas pick-up if I see nurdles in the sand. Another interesting event with WWF team. Thank you.
It is such a nice experience to meet other nature enthusiasts and get educated on nurdles while removing them from the sand.
Please note that events may be cancelled or rescheduled due to updated safety guidelines from the government. We will try our best to keep you informed of any changes as early as possible. Thank you for your understanding and support.
