Sprint for Change is our exciting summer series designed to get you learning, exploring, and taking action for nature!
Through hands-on workshops and challenges focused on climate, pollution, and biodiversity, you’ll dive into key issues aligned with global IUCN goals and discover how YOU can make a difference! This is your chance to build your knowledge, connect with others, and take action that truly matters. Whether you're joining online or in person, each session brings you one step closer to creating a positive impact.
Take part in any 3 workshops and/or online sessions, and complete 2 challenges to earn a certificate and be recognised for your dedication to a better planet.

About the Session:
This session falls under: Pollution!
One of the biggest challenges we face is plastic waste, and our goal is to help keep our environment clean of this waste and protect it at all costs.
Join us at Ecyclex to take part in a hands-on recycling session and learn about e-waste and recycling from recycling experts, understand the problems we face due to plastic and get tips and tricks on how to sort, manage and deal with plastic waste.
Time to take plastic matters into our own hands and do better for our planet!
Overview:
1. E-waste Recycling Facility Tour:
- Intro about the facility
- Explaining what is e-waste and why do we need to recycle
- How do we recycle e-waste, the different processes, and hazards related to not recycling
- Show recycling in action and show the outcome recycled materials
2. Plastic Recycling Workshop:
Introduction:
- Why plastic is a problem?
- How plastic waste is managed?
- Interesting facts and figures!
- Awareness created on e-waste, food and plastic waste (the three most important waste streams!)
- Volunteers will also have a chance to look at some sample output recycled plastics.
Why should you join the session?
- Learn about sustainable development and incorporate a lifestyle that lives in harmony with nature
- Understand where plastic waste comes from and how consumers can aid industrial change and significantly impact our carbon emissions
- Support to achieve a substantial reduction in waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse
- Collect data that helps survey plastic litter and develop policies to reduce/eliminate single-use plastics
- Experience recycling live and see the outcome of recycled materials through a hands-on workshop

This session is available for all active members of the Leaders of Change program.
