Nature at Night: Ain Al Ghamour

ABOUT THE EVENT

Nature at Night is a citizen science walk where participants learn to use the iNaturalist app to record and share their findings. As they explore the landscape of Ain Al Ghamour, after dark, participants discover and document nocturnal species, contributing valuable data to the global science community. 

What will participants learn or gain from the activity?

1. Discover the nocturnal life that inhabits the deserts of the UAE.
2. Learn how to become citizen scientists and contribute to scientific research through their observations.

WHICH AREA OF IMPACT DOES IT CONTRIBUTE TO?

• Nature and Wildlife: Support the sustainable management of the UAE’s natural ecosystems and help expand effective protection to 30% by 2030.
• Civil Society Mobilization: Engage and mobilize volunteers across the UAE to drive positive change on the ground, through training & development, incubation programmes and hands-on volunteering excursions in nature.
• Citizen Science: Collect 5,000 new research -grade observations of animals and plants in the UAE.
