Take part in a hands-on scientific plant survey, recording native vegetation data that directly supports long-term biodiversity conservation and habitat restoration.
Join us in Wadi Wurayah National Park and Ain Al Ghamour to carry out a standardized plant survey. Participants will measure native plant diversity, vegetation cover and habitat condition as part of long-term biodiversity monitoring for conservation planning.
Measure plant species richness and abundance using transects and quadrats.
Identify native flora in the field and recognise key reproductive stages and seasonal changes.
Understand how vegetation cover, biomass indicators and habitat characteristics are monitored over time.
See how long-term plant monitoring supports evidence-based conservation decisions in protected and sensitive sites.
Strengthen long-term biodiversity monitoring and build a scientific baseline for key habitats in the Hajar Mountains and hot-spring landscapes.
Provide data to inform habitat management, restoration priorities and climate-resilient conservation planning.
Support the protection of native plant communities that underpin wider ecosystem services (soil stability, water regulation, wildlife habitat).
Contribute to national efforts to safeguard important terrestrial ecosystems and integrate science into policy and land-use decisions.
This session is open to members of Leaders of Change and invited volunteers.
