Join us in a guided citizen-science walk where participants use iNaturalist to record and share biodiversity observations around the Suhaila trail in Hatta.
Hatta BioBlitz: Suhaila Lake is a citizen-science walk where participants learn to use the iNaturalist app to record and share biodiversity observations. As we hike along Suhaila Lake’s trail, we’ll photograph and identify plants, insects, birds, and tracks—turning our walk into real data for conservation.
Learn how to use iNaturalist (photo tips, GPS pins, species ID, and “research-grade” criteria).
Discover the lakeside biodiversity of Hatta: dragonflies & damselflies, water-associated plants, birds, and signs of wildlife.
Understand how community observations inform habitat protection and restoration decisions in the UAE.
Nature & Wildlife: Support evidence-based management of UAE ecosystems and help expand effective protection to 30% by 2030.
Civil Society Mobilization: Engage and upskill volunteers through guided training and hands-on fieldwork.
Citizen Science: Contribute toward our target of 5,000 new research-grade observations of UAE flora and fauna.
This session is open to Leaders of Change members aged 16 and above. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult (upon request/approval via [email protected]).
