Can observing nature help us feel more grounded? Join this session to explore how connecting with the natural world; even in small moments with plants, pollinators, or birds, can support mindfulness
In moments when the world feels uncertain, many of us look for ways to stay grounded, connected, and calm. Research shows that feeling connected to nature, including emotional connection and a sense of oneness with the natural world, can support mindfulness, emotional wellbeing, and positive mental health across many measures.
This online session will explore the research behind nature connection and share practical ways that observing nature through small moments of presence with plants, pollinators, or birds can bring a sense of steadiness and perspective, and even become a form of mindfulness meditation.
We will also explore how citizen science initiatives such as iNaturalist allow people to channel this mindful observation into meaningful action, contributing valuable data that helps scientists better understand and protect biodiversity.
