Mighty Mangroves: Kayak and Explore!

Discover the unique mangrove ecosystem at Jubail Mangrove Park through a guided kayak experience and immersive nature walk.

ABOUT THE ACTIVITY

Join us for a guided exploration of Jubail Mangrove Park, where you’ll kayak through calm mangrove waterways and walk along the park’s winding boardwalk trail. Throughout the experience, our team will introduce you to mangroves as a vital coastal habitat and explain their role in supporting biodiversity, protecting shorelines, and strengthening ecosystem resilience.

As you move through the mangroves by kayak and on foot, you’ll learn about ongoing efforts to conserve and restore mangrove ecosystems in the UAE, while gaining a deeper appreciation of their environmental importance. This experience is designed to connect you with nature through observation, learning, and exploration.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?  

This event open for Leaders of Change members aged 18 and above. Volunteers under 18 can only attend when accompanied adults, please reach out to [email protected] for confirmation.

WHAT IS THE IMPACT? 

  • Help to restore local biodiversity. Mangroves are home to endangered species of turtles, seabirds, sharks and rays.
  • Raise public awareness about the importance of mangroves, the project and inspire civil society to play an active role in safeguarding these essential ecosystems.
  • Contribute to the value of the ecosystem amongst the community. 
  • Create opportunities for eco-tourism.
