About this activity
Did you know that the UAE is home to approximately 598 native plants, with 67% of them considered near threatened or worse by IUCN? Terra’s xeriscape features 125 native and adapted plant species, providing a unique urban habitat to explore the flora and fauna of the UAE. Since its inception, Terra has been committed to fostering a deeper connection with nature and enhancing our understanding of the natural world and our role in its conservation.
During this bio-blitz, you will become a citizen scientist, exploring Terra’s landscape to observe and document the health of these vital local plant species. Led by our resident ecologist and landscape architect, we will examine the roles these plants play in the ecosystem and delve into their traditional uses and cultural significance. This event offers a chance to connect with the UAE’s rich natural heritage, learn about local biodiversity, and understand the sustainable practices that have shaped our cultural traditions.
Who can participate?
This session is open to all Leaders of change aged 7 years and above.
