The Hajar Mountains, a vital UAE ecoregion with rich biodiversity, are being restored through community-driven reforestation efforts that involve planting native trees.
The Hajar Mountains are a rugged landscape of steep peaks and winding wadis, forming one of the UAE’s most important natural environments. This mountain range, recognized as a global priority ecoregion, is home to a diverse array of rare and endangered species, including the Caracal Lynx and Arabian Tahr. The mountains also provide essential freshwater resources, making them a critical habitat for both wildlife and human communities.
Reforestation in the Hajar Mountains aims to restore degraded ecosystems by planting native tree species like Sidr, Ghaf, and Arabian Moringa. These efforts help rebuild natural habitats, improve biodiversity, and promote sustainability in areas affected by climate change and habitat degradation. By replanting trees and protecting these ecosystems, we can safeguard the natural beauty and biodiversity of the region.
Be a part of this exciting initiative to restore the natural environment of the Hajar Mountains! Join our reforestation activities, where you’ll help plant native trees, learn about the region’s unique biodiversity, and contribute to conservation efforts. Whether you're passionate about nature or just eager to give back, this is your chance to make a real difference.
